What are Seint’s Ingredients?
Seint (often misspelled as Saint) is a makeup/beauty company focused primarily on its line of Cream IIID Foundations. There might be slight differences in the lists, but in general the cream foundation contains:
- Liquid Paraffin
- Petrolatum
- Beeswax
- Ozokerite Wax
- Cetyl Esters
- Lanolin
- Zinc Stearate
- Phenoxyethanol
- Titanium Dioxide
- Iron Oxides
What about the Petrolatum in Seint makeup?
At one of the Seint Artist Reunions, an expert on skincare gave a speech about the ingredients in Seint’s cream products. Their exact words were:
“When we’re talking about mineral oil and petrolatum, what matters is the grade of the ingredient, which refers to its purity. Remember, pure petrolatum is an occlusive that is intended to prevent the entrance of bacteria and outflow of water. In a sufficiently high amount it can block pores, but not in the amount found in IIID.The most common example is petroleum jelly, which is 100% petrolatum, or an antibacterial ointment for cuts (e.g. Neosporin).”
Like mineral oil, petrolatum also comes in cosmetic grade. COSMETIC GRADE petrolatum has no contaminants and is non-comedogenic.
How do Seint’s ingredients compare to other brands?
Seint products, in general, contain WAY fewer ingredients than other products.
The highlights (foundation) contain just ten ingredients, while other brands contain many more!
What if I have an allergy?
This is a great question! I have a daughter with severe allergies, so I am totally in tune with this concern. In general, if you have an allergy to a specific ingredient, always check before you purchase. On the Seint website, each item has ingredients listed. I can’t stand when cosmetic companies only show the “active” ingredients, or the “key” ingredients. I want to see them ALL!
There are a few ingredients you should be aware of in Seint products:
Coconut- The LIP CONDITIONER contains coconut oil.
Lanolin- Many of the cream products contain this ingredient.
Milk- The skincare contains cultured milk serum. If you are lactose intolerant you should be ok, but if there is an allergy, please use caution.
Is Seint makeup/skincare vegan?
No. Seint products contain Lanolin, Beeswax, and Skim Milk.
Is Seint makeup/skincare organic?
Seint feels pretty strongly about this one. So many companies throw those words around, and so this is the official statement from Seint:
We use very high quality ingredients but we don’t feel comfortable using unregulated terms like “Non Toxic”, “Hypoallergenic”, “Non Comedogenic”, “Oil Free”, “All Natural”, “Organic”, “Mineral Free”, etc.
Is Seint Gluten Free?
YES!
Is Seint Cruelty Free?
YES!!
